About
Built by people who got the answer wrong once
MyStayDays exists because the 90/180 rule is easy to understand and genuinely hard to count, and because the tools people reach for — a spreadsheet, a note on a phone, a calculator that forgets last winter — get it wrong in the same direction every time.
What we are trying to be
A product that tells you the truth about your own travel, quickly, and then shows you its working so you do not have to take it on trust. That is the whole ambition. We are not trying to become a border service, a visa agency or a travel booking site.
It is aimed at people for whom the number actually matters — somebody with a second home in Spain, a family splitting the year, a crew or a consultancy moving people around Europe, anybody who has ever landed and thought "how many days is that now".
How we try to be right
This is the part worth being specific about, because it is the only claim that matters and the easiest one to make emptily.
The rules are data, not code
Every parameter — the ninety days, the hundred and eighty, whether the day you arrive counts — is stored as a value with the legal instrument it came from and the date a person last checked it. That is what lets the product show you the working rather than assert an answer, and what lets a rule be corrected without a deployment.
Membership is dated, so history stays right
Countries join the area, and they join on dates that matter to anybody who travelled that year. Bulgaria and Romania began counting on 31 March 2024, nine months before land borders opened. A trip in 2023 is judged against the rules of 2023, not today's.
The engine is checked against a second one
Every build runs the calculation against an independently written reference implementation over generated itineraries, so that a mistake has to be made twice in the same way to survive. There are several hundred tests behind that, and the figures on the how it works page come from the same engine that answers your account.
What has not been done
A direct comparison against the official EU short-stay calculator using real itineraries. It is planned, it is not finished, and this page will keep saying so until it is. ETIAS and the Entry/Exit System are not built in either — those timelines have moved repeatedly, and building a compliance product around dates that keep changing would do more harm than leaving them out.
How we treat your data
- No trackers, anywhere. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party fonts or scripts. One cookie, and it keeps you signed in.
- Passport numbers are encrypted before they are stored, with a key that is not in the database — and you never have to enter one, because no figure depends on it.
- We do not sell data and we do not have advertisers. The paid plan is the business model, which is why there is one.
The privacy policy names every field we store, who can see it, and how long it is kept — including the uncomfortable parts.
Who is behind it
MyStayDays is operated by MicroWizard.
It is a small operation, which has one advantage worth having: the person who reads your email is the person who can fix the thing you are writing about. There is no support tier and no ticket queue. If a figure looks wrong to you, say so and we will show you the working behind it — and if the working is wrong, that is the most useful message we can get.
